Provides life-changing, outdoor adventures for young adults impacted by cancer. Through outdoor adventures, skills development, and local adventure communities FD improves the long-term survivorship of young adults impacted by cancer. Our participants experience free outdoor adventure programs that empower them to climb, paddle, and surf beyond their diagnosis, reclaim their lives, and connect with others doing the same.
Offers free week-long outdoor experiences to individuals (18+ years old) who have been diagnosed with cancer. Experiences are based upon outdoor adventure activities such as white water adventures during the summer months, and snowshoeing and cross country skiing during the winter months. Participants will be encouraged to recognize the reality that cancer is a part of their story, but it no longer defines them. Connections with other individuals who share a similar story will create a community that lasts long after their Epic Experience has ended.
